How Israeli settlers profit from stolen Palestinian land – video
People can rent a holiday home on Airbnb or Booking.com in an illegal Israeli settlement, on occupied Palestinian territory. But not if you’re a Palestinian. Josh Toussaint-Strauss looks into a Guardian investigation of how two of the world’s most popular tourism websites have been doing business on illegally seized land in the occupied West Bank, while Palestinians in the region are facing mass forced displacements and a sharp rise in violent attacks

Gunfire heard as thousands rush to receive aid at Gaza distribution centre
The first US-backed distribution centre opened in Rafah after a blockade of nearly three months on humanitarian aid entering Gaza imposed by Israel. The scheme was quickly overwhelmed as thousands of people tried to get their hands on food parcels. Israeli troops opened fire near thousands of Palestinians as a logistics group chosen by Israel to ship food into Gaza lost control of its distribution centre on its second day of operations. Israel said the newly built distribution centre would prevent Hamas from stealing aid from Palestinians; however, aid groups and the UN have said the scheme violates humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence

Neil Young Sends Trump An FU Over Springsteen Attacks
“Think about saving America from the mess you made” instead of attacking musicians, Neil Young wrote on his website.
If ever there was a time for musicians (and anyone else) to publicly tell Trump to STFU and to stand in solidarity with Trump targets, this is it.
In case you missed it, Felon 47 has been throwing quite the authoritarian temper tantrum after
Bruce Springsteen criticized him on stage.
So, kudos to Neil Young for clapping right back. On his website, Young responded to Trump’s threats to Springsteen, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bono by writing, “I am not scared of you. Neither are the rest of us. You shut down FEMA when we needed it most. That’s your problem Trump. STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.” He also wrote, “This guy is out of control. We need a real president!”
In another post, Young posted Trump’s threatening social media rant and gave it the headline, “TRUMP ATTACKS everything but America's problems.”

Trump's DHS Official: Genocide Only Applies To White People
Re Afrikaner "refugees," Tricia McLaughlin tries to frame this as, 'I'm not racist, you're racist.' It doesn't work that way, Klanny. Also, learn the meaning of the words you're using."
Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, defended racist grandpa Donald Trump's administration to expedite refugee status for White South Africans while broadly suspending most other refugee programs. CNN's Victor Blackwell wasn't having it.
The 59 Afrikaners who were somehow granted refugee status by the Trump administration arrived in the US on Monday. The white genocide conservatives are pushing is absolute bullshit. Just ask Errol Musk, Elon's father, who amassed a fortune during the apartheid era in South Africa. Good old Errol worked in industries that benefited from the policies of racial segregation and discrimination. But the white Afrikaners are claiming that they are being persecuted, even though there is no evidence of that.

Mike Johnson: Trump Doesn't Hide His Corruption So It's Legal
How crazy is this?
It's legal if Trump admits to doing the crime.
QUESTION: Mr. Speaker, you are very critical of President Biden and his family's foreign business dealings.
You supported an impeachment inquiry as a result of it.
Are you equally concerned about President Trump's family's business dealings, especially given the fact that he is in a region now where his family has billions of dollars of investments in Doha, in Saudi Arabia, and the fact that he has a crypto business now where he's auctioned off access to the White House for the highest bidder in his meme coin?
JOHNSON: Look, there are authorities, police, executive branch, ethics rules. I'm not an expert in that. My expertise is here in the House, okay?
I'll say that the reason that many people refer to the Bidens as the Biden crime family is because they were doing all this stuff behind curtains, in the back rooms. They were trying to conceal it, and they repeatedly lied about it, and they set up shell companies, and the family was all engaged in getting all on the dole.
Whatever President Trump is doing is out in the open. They're not trying to conceal anything.
Republicans never proved any corruption surrounding President Biden even though the laughable James Comey spent years trying to smear the Biden family because Trump was impeached by the HOUSE twice.
What we see from Trump and his family is clearly unethical, immoral, and illegal under the Constitution.
I guess if Trump shot the Walmart CFO for raising prices because of Trump's tariffs, Johnson would claim he's justified because he did it live on TV.

'If You Would Be Quiet!': Dan Goldman Goes Scorched Earth On Kristi Noem
It was a simple question, Kristi.
At Wednesday's House Homeland Security Committee hearing, Democratic New York Rep. Dan Goldman clashed with Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem over Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who did not get due process, which is afforded to everyone in the US according to the Constitution.
"Will you give Mr. Abrego-Garcia the due process that the Supreme Court and Judge Wilkinson have required you to give him?" Goldman asked Noem.
"Abrego-Garcia is an El Salvador resident who is in his home country," Noem said, missing the entire point. "If he were to come back to this country, he would be immediately removed again."
"How do you know?" Goldman asked.
"He has received and been treated appropriately, sir, and he is not in this country anymore," Noem insisted.
"How can you say he's been treated appropriately if the Supreme Court has ruled 9-0, 9-0 that he hasn't been treated appropriately?" Goldman shot back. "Why is your opinion better and has more authority than the Supreme Court?"
"We had two judges, investigators, two judges, an immigration court that all said he was MS-13 and was removed from this country," Noem lied.
"But you understand, that is you saying that," Goldman said. "That is you saying that."
"That is them saying that," she said.
"No, no, no, no!" the New York Democrat said. "That is you making that determination. The court has considered all that. The judge has considered all that, Madam Secretary, and if you would be quiet because I'm reclaiming my time, you are not following this court order."
"But let's focus on the court order because this opinion also says that to facilitate, which the Supreme Court is requiring, is an active verb," he continued. It requires that steps be taken. What steps have you taken to return Mr. Abrego-Garcia to allow him to get due process?"
"Abrego-Garcia is in his home country," she insisted.
"What steps have you taken?" Goldman asked again. He explained, "I'm not advocating for him. I'm advocating for a court order, Madam Secretary."
"It's got to be extremely discouraging to be one of your constituents," Noem said. "To see you fight for a terrorist like this and not fight for them is extremely alarming to me."
"I'm fighting for due process," Goldman said. "And that's under the Constitution, and you should fight too for due process."
The US Supreme Court ordered the government to "facilitate" the return of the wrongly deported Maryland man. If she just picks which parts of the Constitution she wants to follow, then she needs to step the fuck down. And Trump has been lying about the man, even to the point of posting a poorly photoshopped image of Abrego Garcia with a fake MS-13 tattoo.

Trump's Transportation Secretary denies firing the people he admitted to firing.
On Sunday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy denied that they had fired any air traffic controllers, but then said that they did and proceeded to toss up a big old word salad:
In the safety mission of the FAA, like air traffic controllers, no one was cut. We actually have staffed up, we've hired more air traffic controllers during this time. There were probationary workers that were let go, those are employees who were there less than a year, and again, we excluded the safety positions, most of them have come back. So again, to say, the FAA has 46,000 employees, and if you lost 350, is this affecting our safety mission? There's a lot of things the FAA does, but for us, safety is key, so no, we've retained all those safety positions.
Duffy then xitted out the video and blamed the "Fake News" for "peddling lies" about the air traffic controllers being fired:
Duffy must have been referring to Sean Duffy, former reality TV star and former surreal Fox pundit who admitted to firing 400 people from an already depleted workforce. And lest we forget, they also found staffing irregularities with the air traffic controllers on the day that 70 people lost their lives when an army helicopter crashed into an airliner jet.

White South Africans granted refugee status by Trump arrive in US
The first white South Africans granted refugee status by the Trump administration have travelled to the United States. The group of 49 accepted an offer of resettlement and have arrived at Dulles airport outside Washington. President Trump claims the white minority in South Africa suffers racial discrimination - an accusation dismissed by its government.
White South Africans own more than 70% of the land in the country. They're so "oppressed."

Trump reportedly prepared to accept ‘palace in the sky’ as gift from Qatar
News of present from royal family ignited accusations of bribery and corruption, as well as criticism against president
Sun 11 May 2025 17.53 BST
Donald Trump is reportedly ready to accept a luxury plane described to be a “palace in the sky” being offered to the US president as a gift from Qatar’s royal family, almost immediately igniting accusations of bribery and corruption as well as commensurate criticism.
On Sunday, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, ABC reported that the Trump administration was girding itself to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, a jumbo jet from the Qatari royals that was estimated to be about $400m. Trump would then use the 13-year-old plane as the new Air Force One until shortly before the conclusion of his second Oval Office stint, at which point it would be transferred to his presidential library foundation no later than 1 January 2029.
On X, Democratic congressman Jamie Raskin of Maryland said: “Trump must seek Congress’ consent to take this $300m from Qatar. The Constitution is perfectly clear: no present of any kind whatever’ from a foreign state without Congressional permission. A gift you use for four years and then deposit in your library is still a gift (and a grift).”
Any gift given to a president in their official capacity must be turned over to the government. Keeping such gifts can be seen as a bribe.

Can an American Pope challenge Trump’s United States?
Chicago-born Robert Prevost, 69, was confirmed as the successor to the late Pope Francis on Thursday, when plumes of white smoke billowed out from the Sistine Chapel's chimney — the traditional sign that the conclave of cardinals has chosen a new pope. After his historic election, tens of thousands of well-wishers gathered in the Vatican on Thursday evening as Leo XIV appeared on the balcony of St Peter's Basilica to deliver a speech in English, Spanish and Italian.

House Votes to Rename Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America, Taking a Symbolic Step
Why didn't the MAGA fools vote to change the name to the Gulf Of Freedom Fries. It would fit right in with all of their jingoistic American uber alles view of the world.
A divided House on Thursday approved legislation to permanently rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, moving over the taunting objections of Democrats to codify President Trump’s executive order renaming the body of water in line with his “America First” worldview.
The 211-to-206 mostly party-line vote to pass the bill amounted to a symbolic show of Republican deference to Mr. Trump, given that Democrats are unlikely to allow the legislation to move forward in the Senate. But it put the G.O.P.-led House on the record backing the president in his effort to rewrite the rules of geography and to dare critics to defy him.

Kristi Noem Admits Trump Is Violating Fundamental Right Of Individuals
Deporting US citizens is illegal, Secretary Noem.
During a hearing by the House Appropriations Subcommittee, Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL) had to force Trump's Homeland Security Secretary to admit that every person has fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution.
UNDERWOOD: Do you believe that the Constitution grants everyone in our country the right to due process, including non-citizens?
NOEM: The administration has the authority to-
Ma'am, I'm looking for a yes or no question. Yes or no?
Do you believe the Constitution- Yes, ma'am.
Do you- Ma'am?
NOEM: We have not conducted any kind of impoundment-
UNDERWOOD: Reclaiming my time, Mr. Chairman.
CHAIRMAN: Time is yours.
Okay.
Secretary Noem, I'm just looking for a yes or no here. Do you believe the Constitution guarantees due process to everyone in America?
NOEM: Due process is exactly what this Congress lays out.
UNDERWOOD: Yes or no?
NOEM: It is. [crosstalk]]
UNDERWOOD: Okay, ma'am, I'll take that as a no.
NOEM: It's rules that you give us on due process.
Excuse me.
UNDERWOOD: Ma'am, I'm trying to ascertain your understanding of the law as it applies to your department, and you as its leader should be able to give us a yes or no answer because judge after judge has ruled that the law is not being followed.
Do you believe that the U.S. government has the authority to deport American citizens?
NOEM: No, and we are not deporting U.S. citizens.
UNDERWOOD: I'm so happy to hear that you do not believe that the law gives you that authority, because the federal government has no authority under U.S. laws to deport any American citizen.
And as I know, everyone viewing this hearing today knows, that several American citizens have been deported to date. [Noem tries to interrupt]
Secretary Noem, that was not a question.
Secretary Noem, that oath that we both swore before taking office was to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
Not the president, not a political party, the Constitution.
It's ridiculous to give Congressional members only five minutes to interview any administration official in any hearing situation.
Nome finally spit out one correct answer in that time.
