'You Cannot De-escalate': Bannon Pushes For More Violence Against Minnesota 'Insurgents'

MAGA influencer Steve Bannon called on the Trump administration to double down after officers from the Department of Homeland Security killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old nurse, over the weekend.

"In Minneapolis is just the center of an outright revolution, highly organized, highly financed, with our enemies, the Chinese Communist Party in back of this, but Soros, many other groups, highly organized, as sophisticated as what they did against our troops in Baghdad during the insurgency there," Bannon argued on his Monday War Room program. "And during the Iraq War, this is highly sophisticated. Under no circumstances can we de-escalate. Under no circumstances can we blink."

"They're talking about how highly organized, sophisticated, and well-financed, uh, this color revolution is in the streets of Minneapolis," he told influencer Jack Posobiec.

"We're dealing with a well-financed, well-organized, and trained, activated communist insurgency," Posobiec claimed.

"100%. This is why you cannot de-escalate. You cannot blink," Bannon agreed. "The very people that are counseling President Trump to de-escalate are the very people that allowed this to happen."

"We are breaking the business model of the enemies of this country in Minneapolis. Everything the mainstream media is saying about this is a lie in Marxist spin."

"These are insurgent tactics that you would see on the battlefields of Fallujah," Posobiec remarked.

I'm fairly certain that the Chinese Communist Party isn't funding the revolution. Why should they? King Orange Julius is destroying the country all by himself. Then they follow that with an anti-Semitic trope involving George Soros.

State Terror Has Arrived

Opinion Columnist

After the past three weeks of brutality in Minneapolis, it should no longer be possible to say that the Trump administration seeks merely to govern this nation. It seeks to reduce us all to a state of constant fear — a fear of violence from which some people may at a given moment be spared, but from which no one will ever be truly safe. That is our new national reality. State terror has arrived.

Please look at this list with me. Since early January, when Immigration and Customs Enforcement expanded its operation in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., federal officers have: killed Renee Good, a white middle-class mother; menaced a pregnant immigration lawyer in her firm’s parking lot; detained numerous U.S. citizens, including one who was dragged out of his house in his underwear; smashed in the windows of cars and detained their occupants, including a U.S. citizen who was on her way to a medical appointment at a traumatic brain injury center; set off crowd-control grenades and a tear gas container next to a car that contained six children, including a 6-month-old; swept an airport, demanding to see people’s papers and arresting more than a dozen people who were working there; detained a 5-year-old. And now they have killed another U.S. citizen, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an I.C.U. nurse with no criminal record. It seems he was white. The agents had him down on the ground, subdued, before they apparently fired at least 10 shots at point-blank range.

US citizen detained by ICE agent 'because of your accent'

That's racial profiling.

In September, DHS wrote this on its site:

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today set the record straight on false allegations by National Public Radio (NPR) about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers engaging in “racial profiling” of illegal aliens. No record or evidence of these anonymously sourced claims exist.

Well, there is a video of that now, and I'm sure there are others out there, too. Now, go check out Melania's citizenship, ICE.

Journalist 'Hired' By ICE: No Vetting, Just A 6-Minute Interview

Is the Trump administration using tax dollars to give guns to unvetted candidates who might be criminals? What a surprise!

Slate journalist Laura Jedeed documented the hiring process for a job at ICE and said she received an offer despite not completing the paperwork. As we've noted previously, Immigration and Customs Enforcement isn't properly vetting ICE applicants. And in one case, a recruit had previously been charged with strong-arm robbery and battery. Others failed drug tests, and some have criminal backgrounds.

How US control of Venezuela’s oil could change global geopolitics

Venezuela holds the world’s largest oil reserves, but years of sanctions, neglect and underinvestment have crippled its energy sector. Donald Trump says US companies will repair Venezuela’s oil infrastructure and sell its oil to cover the costs of Washington’s intervention. Although Venezuela produces just one percent of global oil, its vast reserves give the plan major geopolitical weight. China, Venezuela’s biggest oil customer, has condemned the removal of Nicolas Maduro and warned the move could inflame tensions.

Trump calls Jan 6 a “day of love.” This bodycam footage shows otherwise.

On Jan. 6, 2021, 140 police officers were injured defending the U.S. Capitol from a violent mob of Trump supporters. Five years later, many still live with the physical and psychological damage from that day. NPR Investigations correspondent Tom Dreisbach sat down with two officers who defended the Capitol — Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges — to watch their police body camera footage from Jan. 6. Both were subjected to some of the most brutal violence of the day, inside a tunnel where police were outnumbered by rioters armed with flagpoles, stun guns, crutches, stolen police shields and chemical sprays. Fanone, Hodges and other officers say that Trump's mass pardon of Jan. 6 rioters has exacerbated the trauma of that day. Both Fanone and Hodges have received death threats, and been called "crisis actors." But the footage from their body-cams shows the reality of what they experienced.

Venezuela Is All About Stealing Its Oil

Donald Trump just said he and his administration have not talked to Venezuela’s exiled opposition leader María Corina Machado today. He took on a dismissive tone at the question from the reporters gathered at Mar-a-Lago for this ongoing press conference.

“I think it would be very difficult for her” to return to lead Venezuela, the US president just said, in response to a reporter’s question.

“She does not have the support in Venezuela; she is a very nice woman but she does not have the support,” he said. The presser now bounces to the next topic. We’ll come back in a moment to what Trump and Rubio just said about Cuba.

Trump’s now being asked about “boots on the ground” in Venezuela. He said a US military presence will only be in relation to sorting out Venezuela’s oil industry. Again, no further detail. Trump is about to take the last question.

'US oil companies will fix the badly broken infrastructure', says Donald Trump

He then added, about Venezuela’s vast oil reserves: “We’re going to have our very large US oil companies, the biggest anywhere in the world, go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oil infrastructure, and start making money for the country and we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so. So we were prepared to do a second wave.” Trump said the US military was prepared to make a second wave of attacks in the latest action overnight into Saturday but that was not needed.

‘Suspension of entry into the US’ ‘Suspension of entry into the US’ Why George Clooney Moved To France

Others have questioned why Clooney did not apply for British citizenship, given that he and Amal have family there, as well as a house in Windsor since 2014. Amal also has chambers in London and two fellowships at Oxford – not the easiest commute from rural Provence.

Yet it is her involvement on a 2024 advisory panel reviewing the international criminal court investigation into potential war crimes in Gaza that offers the strongest indication as to why the couple felt it imperative to relocate their family from Los Angeles.

A warrant was issued in November 2024, and the following February, Trump issued an executive order imposing sanctions on the ICC and naming Khan in its annexe, promising to “impose tangible and significant consequences on those responsible for the ICC’s transgressions, some of which may include the blocking of property and assets, as well as the suspension of entry into the United States of ICC officials, employees, and agents, as well as their immediate family members”.

Last April, Amal was among a number of senior legal counsels to the ICC warned by the Foreign Office that they could be at risk of sanctions by the Trump administration, including being banned from entering the US.

Accountability is something to be avoid if your Donald Trump or one of his sycophants. The ICC has every right told those responsible for human rights abuse accountable no matter who it is.
