The Republican National Committee abandoned its request for a court order affecting poll observers Tuesday after determining that election monitoring was running smoothly in Wisconsin’s most populous city.
The RNC sued the city’s elections commission Monday and sought a court order barring election officials from limiting the number of observers at polling locations. But Tuesday in court, Scott said no order was needed because the city was not stopping anyone from monitoring the polls.
The Republicans want as many observers as possible in polling stations not to ensure a fair election but for voter intimidation.
