As DOGE slashes budgets, FAA close to canceling $2.4b contract with Verizon and giving it to Musk’s Starlink

The FAA could hand the contract to overhaul an integral U.S. air traffic control communications system to the mogul’s satellite company

Elon Musk could soon acquire another government contract worth $2.4 billion as the Federal Aviation Administration considers ditching Verizon for the billionaire’s Starlink, according to a report.

As Musk hacks his way through the federal government, the FAA is “close to canceling” the contract to overhaul the system that is integral to supporting U.S. air traffic control and handing it to the mogul’s satellite company, the Washington Post reports.

In a statement, the FAA told The Independent that “no decisions have been made” about the contract.

How can this be seen as legal or ethical? Isn't this a clear form of fraud, waste and abuse? Its apparent that Elon Musk an unelected and confirmed cabinet appointee is actually in control of the government.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized the Associated Press’s continued use of “Gulf of Mexico” instead of “Gulf of America,” calling it “ridiculous” and underscoring his intent to restrict the agency’s access if it does not recognize the new designation.

White House officials temporarily banned an Associated Press reporter from a news conference last week after the outlet did not change its influential style guide’s stance on the gulf, which Trump ordered be renamed the “Gulf of America.”

“The Associated Press just refuses to go with what the law is and what has taken place. It’s called the Gulf of America now. It’s not called the Gulf of Mexico any longer. I have the right to do it,” Trump said.

Executive Orders are not laws they are directives. Which can be rescinded by a signature. Laws are legislation passed by the House and Senate and then signed by the sitting president which makes it a law.

National security advisor Mike Waltz said the US deserves “payback” from Ukraine for its support against the Russian invasion and that President Volodomyr Zelenskiy would be “very wise” to accept the minerals deal offered last week. Via Bloomberg News:

DOGE Fired Nuclear Bomb Specialists. Now They Need Them Back

This is what happens when morons run government 

DOGE and President Musk are realizing that it is not so easy to replace nuclear energy specialists with a bunch of robots and 20 year old incels. I guess there IS something valuable in education and experience. Bloomberg is reporting that the Energy Department is "seeking to bring back nuclear energy specialists after abruptly telling hundreds of workers that their jobs were eliminated."

These employees are "responsible for designing and maintaining the nation’s cache of nuclear weapons at the National Nuclear Safety Administration", but were deemed expendable by DOGE. About 300-400 were let go, but that hasty decision was quickly reversed on Friday. They are now seeking to rehire the workers because "they deal with sensitive national security secrets."

To be clear, people who work in these roles usually require the highest level of security clearance, which can take over a year and a half to obtain during a normally staffed and well functioning administration. It is unclear how much of a delay DOGE would cause to any background check process.

These are highly specialized positions. You just can't walk into the local McDonalds and start hiring people

The departures come after Emil Bove, the acting U.S. deputy attorney general, issued a memo Monday ordering federal prosecutors in New York to drop the case against Adams arguing, in part, that it hampered his ability to tackle “illegal immigration and violent crime."

Danielle R. Sassoon, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced her resignation in a brief statement to colleagues on Thursday, the senior official said.

A seventh prosecutor Hagen Scotten resigned this morning. 

Scotten wrote a resignation letter to acting deputy attorney general Emil Bove in which he accuses the official of abandoning his legal ethics to do the bidding of President Donald Trump.

McMahon says she’s not sure if a Black history class would be allowed

 Linda McMahon of World Wrestling Entertainment has been nominated to be Secretary of Education a position for which she isn't remotely qualified. I suppose this is inform with Trump's other nominees who, aren't qualified to hold similar positions in the private sector. 

During her confirmation  hearing she was asked whether Black history classes could be taught given the executive order signed by Donald Trump. From the title you can see she seems to believe those classes wouldn't be allowed. 

Linda McMahon, testifying before a Senate committee considering her nomination to be secretary of education, said she did not know whether a school would be legally permitted to offer a Black history class or allow clubs centered on racial or ethnic identity.

She said she would “want to know what the clubs are doing.”

“That’s pretty chilling,” replied Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut).

Asked specifically if a Black history course would be legal, she said she was “not quite certain.”

Given Trump's long history of racism teaching the history of minorities in America under his administration will probably be eliminated.

 Donald Trump in a meeting at the White House the King of  Jordan once again promoted the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. The remarks — made at an impromptu gaggle with reporters at the start of the bilateral meeting between the two leaders — were a new form of pressure on King Abdullah II. The king sought to praise Mr. Trump as a force for peace in the region while avoiding comment on a barely formed proposal that the president has repeatedly floated in the past week.

This proposal if carried out wouldn't bring peace to the Middle East it would be a breeding and recruitment ground for terrorists groups for decades.

The change is in direct response to Trump's comments about Gaza, which should come as a shock to NO ONE after his son-in-law Jared Kushner made similar comments a year ago. The Trump administration has removed dozens of Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI officials and is eyeing firing perhaps thousands more in an unprecedented purge that may just be getting started.

Trump critics feared he would use the two agencies to carry out retribution against his perceived political enemies.

Some of the first actions from the new leadership at the FBI and DOJ have targeted those who worked on President Trump’s two criminal prosecutions as well as agents and lawyers involved in charging the 1,500 Jan. 6 defendants, who have since been pardoned by the president.

James Dennehy, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s New York field office, said the agency was in a battle of its own.

“Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own, as good people are being walked out of the FBI and others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and FBI policy,” he said in an email reported by The New York Times.

The Trump administration on Friday forced out the five highest career positions at the FBI along with the heads of numerous field offices, including the leader in Washington, D.C.

And at the U.S. attorney’s office in D.C., multiple outlets reported that approximately two dozen prosecutors who worked on some of the 1,500 Jan. 6 cases were fired.

The week prior, the Justice Department fired more than a dozen prosecutors who previously worked on Trump’s Jan. 6 and Mar-a-Lago cases, specifically citing their work on those cases. Other top career prosecutors have also recently been reassigned and demoted.

FBI leadership also has been asked to turn over a list of its agents who worked on cases involving the 1,500 Jan. 6 cases — putting at risk some 2,400 agents who worked on the largest prosecutorial undertaking in DOJ history.

Donald Trump has said that Palestinians have “no alternative” but to leave Gaza due to the devastation left by Israel’s war on Hamas, in effect endorsing ethnic cleansing of the territory over the opposition of Palestinians and the neighbouring countries.

Speaking as he prepared to host Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, Trump repeated the suggestion that Gaza’s population should be relocated to Jordan and Egypt – something both countries have firmly rejected.

Trump claimed Palestinians would “love to leave Gaza”, telling reporters: “I would think that they would be thrilled.”

Forced relocation is a crime.

Donald Trump Jr has been accused of killing a protected duck while hunting in the Venice lagoon.

Andrea Zanoni, a regional counsellor in Veneto, said a video of a hunting trip in northern Italy showed Trump Jr with the body of a rare ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea).

“This is a species protected throughout Europe by the EU birds directive and of course by Italian law … [which] criminally punishes its killing and possession,” he said. “Veneto and Italy are not the property of the USA,” he added in a post on Facebook.

Not worry little Donny Jr. won't be held accountable because his father is the worlds most famous crime boss.
