‘Vladimir, stop!’ Trump in rare rebuke to Putin as Kyiv attack toll rises to 12
Donald Trump has issued a rare rebuke to Moscow for an air attack that killed 12 people in Kyiv, telling the Russian president in a social media post: “Vladimir, STOP!”
The US president’s remarks come as he makes a renewed push to end the Ukraine war, reportedly on terms favourable to Russia that include recognition of Moscow’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, something the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said he cannot accept.
Trump told reporters in Washington: “I have my own deadline,” amid speculation he wants to have a ceasefire agreed before his 100th day in office on 30 April. He repeatedly claimed during his election campaign that he would end the war within 24 hours of taking office.
The US president insisted that he was applying pressure on Vladimir Putin to end the war, claiming that an agreement by Moscow not to take over the entire country would be a “big concession”.
To believe that Trump is really rebuking would be delusional.
Under Trump's 'peace plan' Ukraine ends up being absorbed into Russia. As he blames Ukraine for Russia's illegal invasion.

German Teens Jailed And Deported While Travelling To Hawaii
"Their experience was described as shocking and surreal, according to the outlet, after they were strip searched, had full body scans, and were handed green prison uniforms."
Seems the German teens who planned to backpack across Hawaii didn't have a detailed itinerary of where they planned to stay each night. For that they were put in handcuffs, "strip searched, had full body scans, and were handed green prison uniforms" before being held in rudimentary and filthy holding cells.
"News like that will certainly do wonders for Hawaiian tourism industry," wrote one Twitter user sarcastically.
Source: Daily Mail
A pair of young German travelers were left shocked after they arrived in Hawaii only to be detained and deported due to their loosely planned trip.
Charlotte Pohl, 19, and Maria Lepere, 18, arrived in Honolulu to begin their trip but were grilled extensively by Customs and Border Protection.
The pair planned to explore before traveling on to California and Costa Rica, but they hadn't booked any accommodation for their five-week stay in Hawaii.
It was the lack of planning that alerted CBP, despite the pair having obtained ESTA travel authorization, German news outlet Ostee-Zeitung originally reported.
The two were accused of potential illegal work intentions and, after hours of questioning, they were placed in handcuffs and taken to what they later found to be a deportation detention center, Beat of Hawaii reported.
Their experience was described as shocking and surreal, according to the outlet, after they were strip searched, had full body scans, and were handed green prison uniforms.
Conditions in the facility were said to have left them sleeping on moldy mattresses, rudimentary toilet facilities, and being warned by guards to avoid eating expired food.
The following morning, the young travelers were taken back to Honolulu airport and deported.
Pohl and Lepere requested deportation to Japan.
The German Foreign Office then later reminded travelers that ESTA approval does not always grant access to the United States, and that border officers may still not allow entry.

New Hampshire real estate attorney Bachir Atallah is an American citizen. He was crossing the northern border after a trip to Canada and was detained without explanation.
NBC Boston reports that Atallah and his wife, Jessica Fakhri, were returning after a quick trip across the border on Sunday when they were stopped by CBP in Vermont. Atallah said that he "literally drove my car to Canada for the weekend, and on the way back, I was treated like a criminal." Hackers Break Into Silicon Valley Crosswalks To Taunt Techbros
In one viral video, a woman pressed the pedestrian call button beneath a sign that had been modified to say “Boycott Tesla.”
Instead of the usual “walk” or “wait” instructions from crosswalk speakers, Silicon Valley pedestrians were shocked over the weekend when they instead heard seemingly deep faked recordings, mocking some of the major broligarchy. Via The L.A.Times:
A series of viral videos posted on social media showed crosswalk speakers playing derisive messages about billionaire tech giants Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg in Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City as perplexed onlookers laughed.
[...] In one viral video, a woman pressed the pedestrian call button beneath a sign that had been modified to say “Boycott Tesla.” In addition to the standard pedestrian instructions, the speaker played a fake Musk monologue.
“You know it’s funny, I used to think he was just this dumb sack of [expletive],” the voice resembling Musk’s began, apparently referring to President Trump. “But, well, when you get to know him, he’s actually really sweet and tender and loving.”
In the background, a voice resembling Donald Trump’s responded: “Sweetie, come back to bed.”

First, Donald Trump didn’t know four U.S. soldiers were missing in Lithuania, then he couldn’t be bothered to show up for their dignified transfer arrival in the U.S. Maybe he’s forgotten that he called fallen troops “suckers” and “losers” but we have not.
Associated Press reported Thursday on the solemn proceedings in Lithuania that included a procession of the coffins of the fallen soldiers passing the capital’s cathedral square. “Government officials and religious leaders” were expected to be among those paying their last respect before the bodies were flown to the U.S.

Sen. Jim Banks Tells HHS Employee Who Lost Job ‘You Probably Deserved It’
'Why did I deserve it?” Schroeder asked. “Because you seem like a clown.” He then smiled as the elevator doors closed.
Source: People
Republican Sen. Jim Banks told a former Health and Human Services employee that he “probably deserved” to lose his job in a viral video on Tuesday, April 1.
The brief interaction between the U.S. senator from Indiana and Mack Schroeder was caught on video and shared by multiple outlets, including NBC News’ TikTok account.
In the video, Schroeder, who does not appear on camera, follows and questions Banks as he is escorted to an elevator.
“Hi, I was a worker at HHS. I was fired illegally on Feb. 14,” he said, referring to recent, mass layoffs and firings under the Trump administration. “There are many people who are not getting social service programs, especially people with disabilities. Are you gonna do anything to stop what’s happening?”
“You probably deserved it," Banks said once inside the elevator.
The former HHS employee and a woman standing near him seem taken aback by Banks' response, both audibly exhibiting surprise.
“I deserved it?” Schroeder asked.
“You probably deserved it," Banks repeated.
“Wow,” the woman is heard saying. “That’s so rude and sad.”
“Why did I deserve it?” Schroeder asked.
The senator does not change his outlook, replying, “Because you seem like a clown.” He then smiled as the elevator doors closed.
