Police Say Suspect Behind The Ballot Drop Box Fires May Be Planning More Attacks
The man suspected of setting fires to the ballot boxes in Oregon and Washington earlier this week may be planning additional attacks, authorities said Wednesday.
Investigators believe the suspect who used incendiary devices to start fires at ballot boxes in Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington had a “wealth of experience” in metal fabrication and welding, according to Portland Police Bureau spokesman Mike Benner.
The construction of the devices as well as the way they were attached to the metal drop boxes showed clear signs of the suspect’s expertise in the area, Benner said.
On Wednesday, authorities described the suspect in question as a white man between the ages of 30 and 40 with a thin to medium build. The man is balding or has very short hair, the police added in the description.

Workers Say They Were Tricked and Threatened as Part of Elon Musk’s Get-Out-the-Vote Effort
America PAC door knockers were flown to Michigan, driven in the back of a U-Haul, and told they’d have to pay hotel bills unless they met unrealistic quotas. One was surprised they were working to elect Donald Trump.
In Michigan, canvassers and paid door knockers for the former president, contracted by a firm associated with America PAC, have been subjected to poor working conditions: A number of them have been driven around in the back of a seatless U-Haul van, according to video obtained by WIRED, and threatened that their lodging at a local motel wouldn’t be paid for if they didn’t meet canvassing quotas. One door knocker alleges that they didn’t even know they were signing up for anything having to do with Musk or Trump.
The contract these door knockers signed with Blitz Canvassing, which is a subcontractor of Musk’s America PAC, says they are “expected to maintain a 17-22% engagement rate during the campaign,” which is a high target relative to the number of people who typically open their door for a stranger. A group of out-of-state America PAC canvassers were told during a recent team meeting that if they didn’t hit their targets, which the door knocker says were more than 1,000 a week on total doors knocked, the organization would stop paying for their motel rooms.
This is how authoritarian rule works. By threats and intimidation. Welcome to Trumps America.
How X users can earn thousands from US election misinformation and AI images
Some users on X who spend their days sharing content that includes election misinformation, AI-generated images and unfounded conspiracy theories say they are being paid "thousands of dollars" by the social media site.
The BBC identified networks of dozens of accounts that re-share each other's content multiple times a day - including a mix of true, unfounded, false and faked material - to boost their reach, and therefore, revenue on the site.
Several say earnings from their own and other accounts range from a couple of hundred to thousands of dollars.
Grifting to increase your income using false and fake content makes you no better than the grifter in chief Donald Trump.

Who inspired Caleb? Why did Caleb believe it was okay to do this?
The loser of the 2020 presidential election.
Police arrested an 18-year-old wielding a machete with an 18-inch blade outside a polling station in Florida on Tuesday, who was part of a group of teenagers accused of intimidating Democratic supporters.
The teenager, Caleb James Williams, was arrested after 4 p.m. when officers were called to the Beaches Branch Library in Neptune Beach.
Williams was arrested on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly brandishing his weapon at two unidentified women, ages 71 and 54, and improper exhibition of a weapon, Neptune Beach Police Department said.

Scumbag Traitor Steve Bannon Released From Prison Today
Steve Bannon was released from federal prison Tuesday, according to a source with knowledge, emerging just a week before Election Day to retake the helm of his weakened right-wing media platform.
Bannon, a right-wing podcast host and the chief executive of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, has remained a strident supporter of the former president. Even as he reported to federal prison in Connecticut in July, Bannon insisted he would influence the presidential race from behind bars and that his “War Room” podcast would continue to energize the Trump base.

Police say fires set at ballot boxes in Oregon and Washington are connected; ‘suspect vehicle’ ID'd
Police say they have identified a “suspect vehicle” connected to incendiary devices that set fires in ballot drop boxes in Oregon and Washington state early Monday.
Surveillance images captured a Volvo stopping at a drop box in Portland, Oregon, just before security personnel nearby discovered a fire inside the box.
That fire damaged three ballots inside, while officials say a fire at a drop box in nearby Vancouver, Washington, early Monday destroyed hundreds of ballots.
You can thank one person for this happening. A man so incapable of dealing with life's set backs that he declared that voting by mail (ballot drop boxes) and early voting were forms of voter fraud. Naturally, his supporters wholly incapable of dealing with reality believe him and go about attacking ballot drop boxes.

Did Jeff Bezos Kill The Kamala Harris Endorsement In Deal With Trump?
After the Washington Post announced they wouldn't be endorsing, Trump met with executives at Blue Origin—the space company owned and operated by Jeff Bezos.
Source: Associated Press
After he spoke in Austin, Trump greeted executives from Blue Origin, the space exploration company owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos.
Bezos is the founder of Amazon and the owner of The Washington Post, which reported Friday that its editorial board won’t endorse a candidate for president. The decision was framed as a return to earlier tradition, but it sparked speculation that Bezos wants to avoid antagonizing Trump, who has vowed retribution against his enemies and critics if he returns to the White House.
The Post editorial board endorsed Trump’s Democratic rivals in 2016 and 2020, and the former president has often railed against critical news coverage by the newspaper.
Robert Kagan resigned immediately on Friday, telling the Daily Beast it was a straight quid pro quo.
Robert Kagan, who resigned from his position on Friday after more than two decades at the publication, told the Daily Beast that Trump’s meeting with executives of Bezos’ Blue Origin space company the same day that the Amazon founder had killed a plan to support Harris was proof of the backroom deal.
“Trump waited to make sure that Bezos did what he said he was going to do, and then met with the Blue Origin people,” he said on Saturday. “Which tells us that there was an actual deal made, meaning that Bezos communicated, or through his people, communicated directly with Trump, and they set up this quid pro quo.”

Washington Post and The L.A. Times Decide Not To Endorse A Presidential Candidate
Patrick Soon-Shiong the billionaire of The Los Angeles Times blocked that papers editorial board from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. In response Mariel Garza, head of the Times editorial board resigned.
Today The Washington Post published an editorial stating that billionaire owner Jeff Bezos had ordered the paper to endorse no one. With their masthead stating that democracy dies in that dark how is not endorsing a candidate helping the country?
Sitting on the sidelines helps no one. Except Mr. Bezos, whose company Amazon has government contracts and would really like to see his bank accounts increase in size.

Truth Social Is A Scam Artist's Delight
Gizmodo submitted a freedom of information request to the FEC and were startled by the number of complaints.
"One person who says they lost $170,000 explained they were initially scammed on a different site but met someone on Truth Social who claimed they could help get their money back. That turned out to be a scam as well." Gizmodo were shocked not only by the number of scams, but the amounts of money involved. The scams also overwhelmingly target the elderly.
Gizmodo submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FTC for consumer complaints about Truth Social filed in the past two years. The complaints to the federal agency include some stories from people who’ve been banned from the site (unjustly, they claim) and others who say they got signed up for mailing lists they never wanted to be on in the first place. But the complaints about scams are the most shocking, if only because there are such large sums of money involved. And we’re publishing a sample of the full, unedited complaints below.
Space precludes showing just some of the many examples of scams perpetrated, but go to the link and read. Just shocking and depressing stuff.
Lest you forget Donald Trump set up a fake university and charity. Both were forced to close by the state of New York after paying 25 million dollars to those he scammed and is banned from operating a charity in the state.

Resignations And Retribution At Truth Social
Truth Social in Disarray! Top Execs Exit Trump Media Amid Allegations of CEO’s Mismanagement and Retaliation
By ProPublica
Former President Donald Trump’s media company has forced out executives in recent days after internal allegations that its CEO, former Rep. Devin Nunes, is mismanaging the company, according to interviews and records of communications among former employees.
Several people involved with Trump Media believe the ousters are retaliation following what they describe as an anonymous “whistleblower” complaint regarding Nunes that went to the company’s board of directors.
The chief operating officer and chief product officer have left the company, along with at least two lower-level staffers, according to interviews, social media posts and communications between former staffers reviewed by ProPublica. The company, which runs the social media platform Truth Social, disclosed the departure of the chief operating officer in a securities filing Thursday afternoon.
