Chicago police officers with batons pushed protesters away from the Israeli consulate, two miles from where the Democratic national convention was being held. Democratic delegates formally nominated Kamala Harris as the party's candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza had gathered for a third consecutive day. On Monday, they had marched through the city to rally against the Biden administration before protesting outside the convention centre the following day
Just a reminder the following who were alive in 1968 Richard J. Daley, Hubert Humphry, LBJ and Richard Nixon are still dead. The Vietnam War ended in 1975. This isn't Chicago of 1968.
