Remote communities north of Los Angeles have been ordered to evacuate as a new wildfire is sweeping across the nearby mountains, bolstered by strong winds. The Hughes Fire has already engulfed hundreds of acres of brush, covering the region in thick, dark smoke. Red flag warnings are in effect across the area, which is only 40 miles away from the neighbourhoods devastated by the recent Palisades and Eaton fires.
