As 2020 approached it appeared that former Vice President Joe Biden might once again seek the presidency. In anticipation the administration sought compromising information on Biden and his family. An opportunity arrived by way of Ukraine where Biden’s oldest son Hunter had business dealings with Burisma, a Ukrainian energy exploration company. In July of 2019 Donald Trump had a phone conversation with the newly elected Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky. President Zelensky refused to abide the White House request and Donald Trump withheld critical military aid Ukraine needed to keep Russia from making further advances in the Donbass region.
That phone call would result in Donald Trump being impeached by the House of Representatives in December of 2020.
